Sunday morning rabbit trails…

Love is more than a noun -- it is a verb; it is more than a feeling -- it is caring, sharing, helping, sacrificing.

How can I build altars?

I was reading on this in Joshua, after God led them through the Jordan River where God commanded them to build an altar so their children would ask what God had done for them. Here's my blog post about it (it's a bit long to repost all here). It has stayed with me still and I wondered what you all thought about it and how you thought I could do this... build altars so that my children will ask what God has done for me? And I certainly don't mean 12 stones, but in today's world what can I do? I know you guys have a lot of creative ideas and I haven't really come up with any on my own.

When you are running toward Christ, you are freed up to serve, love, and give thanks without guilt, worry, or fear.  As long as you are running you are safe." -Francis Chan

9.  “So many times we get overwhelmed with the word give.  What does it mean?  What does it look like?  There are so many needs.  How do I begin?
The answer is simple....the quote that my Dad loves and uses often:

Daily experience the extravagant love of the Father and give it away to the next person you meet.” - http://www.thestayathomemissionary.com/2010/11/being-filledthe-beginning-of-giving.html

"This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.  This is love: not that we loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.  No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us." 1 John 4:9-12
