I have often pondered why the world hates the Duggars. This author tries to sort out the why behind the anger the world has against this family in her blog post - http://getalonghome.com/2011/12/world-hate-duggars/.
This is my online journal/commonplace book. I use to post things that interest me or things that I want to keep track of and go back read at another time. I am an "Infojunkie" (as my mother loving dubbed me), and this blog allows me to have an outlet for my infojunkie ways. :o)

Why Does the World Hate the Duggars?
When an adult took standardized tests forced on kids
I came across this article the other day – “When an adult took standardized tests forced on kids”. How would an adult do on a standardized test given to grade 10 students?
The test taker had this to say about his results (which weren’t great):
“It might be argued that I’ve been out of school too long, that if I’d actually been in the 10th grade prior to taking the test, the material would have been fresh. But doesn’t that miss the point? A test that can determine a student’s future life chances should surely relate in some practical way to the requirements of life. I can’t see how that could possibly be true of the test I took.”

Cities are the New Universities???
The UNCOLLEGE blog recently posted this article about cities being the new universities - http://www.uncollege.org/archives/1450
In the article, the author mentions a place called GENERAL ASSEMBLY. I went to check out their website and love their description – “General Assembly is a campus for technology, design, and entrepreneurship. We provide educational programming, space, and support to facilitate collaborative practices and learning opportunities across a community inspired by the entrepreneurial experience.” Wouldn’t it be great if every community had a space to facilitate collaborative learning opportunities?
Maybe someday…
