READING SCRIPTURE TOGETHER

Today on Alan Knox's blog he writes about reading scripture, but not only that but reading scripture TOGETHER.  http://www.alanknox.net/2010/08/reading-scripture-together/

1 TIMOTHY 4:13 --  Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.

We do get too caught up in the studying of God's words to us and miss out on the story, the message he has for us.

ROMANS 10:17 -- Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

We also need to HEAR his word, thus why public reading would be important too.

FORGIVE WITH ALL THE HEART AND LET LOVE DWELL THERE

This quote was shared with me today.  I think it ties in well with the post the other day about bearing each others failings... ( http://onanygivendayinpamelasmind.blogspot.com/2010/08/bearing-failings-of-weak.html  )

For every wrong that was ever done to a person,
whether a look, a phrase or an action, this person should go out and do two rights with a smile, a word of encouragement, and a helping hand, and remember to forgive with all the heart and let love dwell there. ~~Anonymous~~

Thanks for sharing this Vana.  :o)

This and That

-  Well it is days like today that make me appreciate my other Internet source more.  You see I have a new laptop (a birthday gift) and I have been enjoying the freedom to use it wherever I want in the house with the wireless Internet.  HOWEVER, today (and yesterday) the Internet was hit and miss.  Well today so far it has been all miss.  Grrr.  So I am using my old desktop computer with the satellite Internet.  Luckily for an Internet junkie like me I have two options for a fix.  ;oP  (The satellite Internet is way more reliable than the wireless.)

-  We have 4 new cats now.  We didn't need anymore cats around here but my brother is moving and his outside cats needed a new home.  So far, so good.  They arrived here last night and this morning they are still here.  Now they just have to learn to play nice with the farm cats.  :o)

-  Boo-hoo!  I had planned to go out last night with some friends to see the movie EAT, PRAY, LOVE.  I was sooooo looking forward to going.  But I woke up feeling very under the weather so I had to cancel.  Maybe I can go next week???

-  Deanna and I were discussing when to start our school year this fall.  At the moment I think our start date is going to be  September 13th.  I guess that means I should really get a plan together, right?  LOL!

- The weather has been awful around here.  It has been wet, wet, wet!  That is so not helpful for harvesting.  Poor Wes is pretty discouraged, between the weather and the equipment issues, he has been looking pretty defeated in the evenings.  I hope things improve soon.

-  Well time to go and take on the day.  Lots to do today if I stay feeling well.
