COMING IN GREAT POWER AND GLORY
notes:
- Greek = harpadzo --> Latin = rapturo --> in English = rapture --> caught up, gathering together (used in KJV)
- the last trumpet is the literal fulfillment of the Feast of Trumpets (1 Corinthians 15:51)
- new birth (born again) at the last trump (flesh and blood cannot go, we are born into our new bodies)
- what must we know or do to be prepared for Christ's return???? He expects us to be living our commitment to him, to continue to be faithful.
- 1 Thessalonians 5:1 - "times and seasons" --> God's time vs the pagan sun god calendar --> "seasons" derived from the Hebrew word moedim which refer to the Feasts of the Lord (which a prophetic shadow of pictures of good things to come - according to Paul) --> inherited so called holi - days (Easter, Christmas), these are not God's idea
- 1 Thessalonians 1:10 - delivered us from the wrath to come
